She was beautiful, wasn’t she? She had a smile to admire and a face longing to be kissed (how how the boy longed to kiss it). She was kind, especially to strangers, and she was never rude to her waiters. She knew how cruel the world could be and she hoped to make things better, if only for a moment. It isn’t too often when you can find someone both beautiful and genuine, but there she was.

She lived her days for everyone else and that is how she wanted it. She believed a selfish life would never make her feel at peace with herself and the universe. A part of her wondered where she would end up, but the other part was excited for the journey, not the destination.
